A Legacy of Care and Connection

Swan Song Collection:
Hospitality, Thoughtfully Reimagined

After decades of creating and stewarding successful inns and hotels across Maine’s most iconic destinations, we set out to do something different. Free from the conventions of traditional hospitality, our focus is now on crafting bespoke accommodations that stand on their own—thoughtfully positioned exceptional lodging near Acadia National Park, yet designed not around tourism, but around intention. Rooted in cruelty-free values, thoughtful design, and deep respect for the natural world, our properties celebrate animals, support Maine artists, embrace creative reuse, and highlight the quieter, more soulful side of Acadia. Here, vacations are meant to slow you down: to breathe deeply, reconnect with nature and one another, and experience Maine with care, curiosity, and joy.

A Philosophy Rooted in Care

After a successful career and celebrating the 50th anniversary of her real estate brokerage, Kim Swan is pursuing her long-held dream of creating destinations where like-minded individuals can find sanctuary and peace from their daily lives.

Her vision for Sanctuary includes a safe haven for neglected animals in a serene environment that also offers beauty and harmony for those who share a similar aesthetic. The Swan Song Collection embodies this mission, reflecting the core values of the Swan Song Saltwater Farm ethos: respect for all animals and their right to a cruelty-free existence, respect for the land and its abundance, and a celebration of the beauty of Maine in an extraordinary space with luxurious accommodations.

Swan shares, “For years I owned inns and hotels in popular tourist towns along the Coast of Maine. With Swan Song Collection, I wanted to make these properties the destinations themselves. I love the challenge of creating something magical from scratch and introducing visitors to a more subtle yet dramatic Maine with its spectacular coast and attractions.”

A Values-Led Vision

The collection adheres to a vegetarian food and beverage ethos, avoiding leather, wool, or feathers in its properties. Swan emphasizes, “We really try to walk the walk and hope that our guests are those seeking this lifestyle. The opportunity to have animals rejoicing in the beautiful space of Saltwater Farm is so exciting. On 53 acres with 3,500 feet along the water, it is a unique property that we did not want to see filled with house lots. We believe we can create a beautiful combination, provide extraordinary hospitality and accommodations while maintaining a significant part of the property for organic farming and animal enjoyment.”

The other, always evolving, members of the collection honor the environment with similar goals, embracing nature and wildlife, serenity and beauty, always infused with good design and magical moments. Fox Pond Lodge, Camp Avaliz, Pom+Aril and Little Berry all adhere to the values.

A Message from Kim

“My ultimate goal in life is to have “philanthropist” as the word that identifies me and to make a profound difference in the lives and welfare of all animals – wild, farmed, and companion, while I am here on earth with them and also after I am gone.”
